Interland Announces Change to Web.com
Interland.com announced today that they will be completing the change of their corporate name to Web.com. The first announcement of the change came earlier this year, when the company acquired Web.com and its hosting assets.
According to the CEO of Interland, Jeff Stibel, “The Web.com name embraces everything in a brand that offers Web services to both small businesses and consumers. From a business perspective, we feel the name change will enable powerful new marketing, business development and sales opportunities. While we intend to leverage the Interland name as it is well known within the technical community, we will focus on making Web.com the standard for creating a powerful Web presence.”
It’s never easy to change your corporate identity, particularly when you have created a presence that is so well known in the industry. It will be interesting to watch the change and see how it affects the company formerly known as Interland. The change will also affect Interland’s stock ticker name, which is now WWWW.
